THE combination of clarinet, viola and piano is not frequently heard, but the people of the Southern Highlands will be treated to the sounds of this rare combination on Saturday.
The Highlands combination, Triosh will perform at the November Berrima Smalls concert at Berrima Village Hall.
Brought together by a love of performing, Triosh is made up of Lynda Male on B flat and clarinet, Christine Jarczewski on viola and Sabine Madden on piano.
The trio has found a rich and varied repertoire for their grouping of instruments performing a mix of original compositions and drawing on a wealth of experience.
Ms Male earned her Bachelor of Music Degree at the Elder Conservatorium, Adelaide University.
She became the first female to join the Royal Australian Navy Reserve Band of which she has been a member for more than 10 years.
She is also an active member of local orchestras, concert bands, chamber ensembles and more recently returned to solo performing.
Ms Male shares her knowledge as a clarinet teacher in the Highlands.
Ms Jarczewski studied at both the Sydney and Tasmanian Conservatoriums of Music graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree and a Graduate Diploma of Music.
She has worked with both the Tasmanian and Sydney Sympony orchestras while performing chamber music has been a constant and important part of her life.
She is also the main string teacher at Frensham.
The Triosh pianist Ms Madden completed three music degrees in Germany, culminating in a post-masters degree Konzertexamen with with distinction at the University of Music Karsruhe.
She took on a piano teaching position at the university in 2004 and performed internationally before returning to Australia to take on the role of artist-in-residence at Frensham.
Triosh will open the performance at Berrima Smalls with Mozart’s Kegestatt Trio.
This will be followed by a selection of eight piece by Bruch. The conert will close with Schumann’s Fairy Tales.
Triosh will showcase the translucence of the classical and passion of the romantic periods at the Berrima Smalls Concert which will begin at 2pm.
Entry is $15 with refreshments included in the cost. Payment is at the door and there are no reservations taken.
