Kangaloon farmers and the Save Water Alliance were not the only ones uncertain about the State Government’s plans for the Kangaloon aquifer.

Upper Nepean Groundwater Community Reference Group (UNGCRG) member Larry Whipper said NSW Water Minister Nathan Rees had yet to formally confirmed to the group that the borefield had been shelved.

“There are a number of contradictory statements going around at the moment, and I must admit the whole situation appears to be very clumsy,” he said.

Cr Whipper said, to date, the SCA had given the impression that they valued the contribution and expertise of the UNCGRG and had always kept the group informed as part of the consultative process.
