THIS weekend is your chance to put up your hand and support the shire’s creative youth.

Southern Highlands Youth Arts Council (SHYAC) is holding a volunteers expo on Sunday for its June production of the Wizard of Oz.

The cast of 70 young people have been busy rehearsing and now it’s time to recruit the support crew.

SHYAC is looking for volunteers to work backstage, front of house, props and costumes, and technical support.

“Come down to the expo, have a chat with us, and find out more about SHYAC,” secretary Paul McShane said.

“There are plenty of opportunities for people to get involved, particularly those who have an interest or experience in theatre production.”

Graphic artist Chris Naylor has already put up his hand and designed the play’s logo. But more help is still needed.

SHYAC’s Wizard of Oz Volunteers Expo is on this Sunday, from 1.30pm, at The Highlands School of Arts. Details: www.shyac.org.au.
