Blood spilled in plaza fight

01 Jul, 2009 10:37 AM
THE western side of Corbett Plaza was splattered with blood following an early Sunday morning assault.

The altercation between two males, who left the Grand Hotel after it closed at 2am, resulted in a 40-year-old man being allegedly king-hit by a third male and then kneed in the head several times while he was on the ground.

The man was treated by paramedics and was admitted to Bowral Hospital at about 2.30am suffering facial injuries and bleeding.

Police said they attended the incident and called the ambulance for the victim but no witnesses have come forward and the victim would not supply them with any information.

No one has been charged over the attack.

Grand owner John Griggs said it was a trouble free but busy Saturday night due to the Australia v France rugby Test and a flood of patrons who chose not to pay the $35 entry fee at the Bowral Hotel to see DJ Nick Skitz.
