MINISTER For Regional Development Phil Costa will tonight announce a project that will create more than 600 jobs in the Southern Highlands.
The NSW Government is investing more than $2.6 million in infrastructure that will allow six business projects to go ahead in the Moss Vale Enterprise Zone.
The funding will be matched by Wingecarribee Shire Council to upgrade Douglas Road and provide sewerage.
Mr Costa will make the announcement at the Southern Highlands Business Awards.
Member for Kiama Matt Brown said the investment would be a huge boost to the region.
“It’s estimated the road upgrade and sewerage infrastructure and the construction and operation of the linked business projects will contribute $225 million to the State’s economy over five years,” he said.
“The project will bring more than 600 pay packets contributing to local businesses and the economy of the Southern Highlands.”
Wingecarribee Mayor Duncan Gair said the funding meant Council could proceed with the infrastructure project at the Moss Vale Enterprise Zone.
“This infrastructure project is an essential component of developing the Moss Vale Enterprise Zone to attract business investment and jobs to the region,” he said.
