DO guinea pigs eat tulips?
This is the big question troubling Bowral Blacks (BRU) president Tony Fountain after it was casually mentioned to him by a garden lover during the first week of Tulip time.
After exhaustive research on the internet he is no closer to the answer, but his immediate concern is that, if the statement proves to be correct, will any of the entrants in Sunday’s BRU Guinea Pig races return a positive swab?
Only time will tell.
With a great deal of interest being shown in the day, which will be held at Eridge Park from 11am, it is hoped that Highlands families will show up in force to witness what will hopefully become an annual fixture.
Apart from the guinea pig races (on a PGRPRA approved track and under stricy veterinary supervision) there will be sack races, three legged races, tossing of the sheaf, sprints and the ever-popular jumping castle.
At 12.30pm the BRU Short Blacks Junior Rugby awards will be presented.
Fountain said that the day, which is being sponsored by Ray White Highlands and Ray White Rural Southern Highlands, had a “no charge” entry fee and all the events would carry a gold coin donation to enter them.
