Portrait prize open for entry

5/09/2008 10:57:00 AM
ARTISTS hoping to secure the $10,000 Berkelouw Self Portrait Prize have just one more week to submit their entries.

In previous years the prize, sponsored by Leo Berkelouw, was open to all portraits, but 2008 entries have been restricted to self portraits.

The works must be original, painted from life, not shown at any other exhibition, and they must have been completed at some time in the last 12 months.

All painting and drawing mediums will be accepted, but no photographic material is allowed.

Entries close on Saturday, September 13.

The works will be judged by NSW Royal Arts Society associate, Jeanette Korduba.

The Berkelouw Self Portrait Prize will then be exhibited at the BDAS Gallery from September 19-28.

Phone the gallery on 4861 4093 for more information.
