Skateboard pros come to grind, flip and teach

26 Nov, 2008 09:24 AM
STREETWISE is coming to Bowral for the first time.

This national sports development program for Australian Skateboarding is designed to provide Highlands youth with an opportunity to get active, stay healthy and enjoy freestyle sports under a safe and professionally managed environment.

The Streetwise interactive coaching lessons are presented by Simbyotik and are also led by some of the country’s best freestyle sporting athletes, along with nationally recognised and accredited coaches.

Between 2006-2007, almost 2000 young people across five states participated. The targeted ages of the program are 6-18 year olds.

Streetwise will be held at the Bowral Skate Park on January 19-20, with sessions running for four hours over the two days, and thanks to the Wingecarribee Shire Council, Streetwise is able to offer all places for $40 in a first in, best dressed policy.

Participants are grouped in sessions based around which level of ability they are at.
