A TOTAL fire ban has been put in place across the Wingecarribee.
The NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS), in consultation with the Bureau of Meteorology, have declared two new total fire bans at 8:30am, Sunday morning.
The Bureau of Meteorology advised that initial forecasts are expected to be exceeded today and that a number of areas across the State are now expected to experience extreme fire danger.
All hazard reduction burns planned for areas affected by total fire bans have been cancelled.
The ban will remain in place until midnight tonight.
During a total fire ban no fire may be lit in the open and all fire permits are suspended.
This includes incinerators and barbecues, which burn solid, fuel for example wood or charcoal.
A gas or electric barbecue can be used, but only if:
* It is on a residential property within 20 metres of the house or dwelling
* It is a picnic area and the appliance is approved by Council, National Parks or State Forest
* It is under the direct control of a responsible adult
* The ground within two metres of the barbecue is cleared of all materials which could burn
* You have an immediate and continuous supply of water available
