ROBERTSON-Burrawang continued their unbeaten start to 2009/10 with another dominant win, this time over Moss Vale.
After a wash out against Bowral and a thumping victory over Wingello, Robertson faced off against last year’s minor premiers hoping to establish themselves as the Highlands’ number one contender in first grade cricket.
And that they did.
Moss Vale batted first and were all out for 104 as Robertson’s bowlers shared the wickets.
Leg spinner Dean Roxburgh picked up three scalps, while Mitchell Wright got two wickets and the rest were shared among the bowlers.
Robertson were never tested in the run chase as they reached the target after only 20 overs.
Ben Buffett top scored with an unbeaten 60, while Nathan Wright was not out on 30.
Spuds captain Nathan Wright said his team was looking good after only three games.
“We are going along well, but I hope there is a bit of improvement in us - just like there will be every other team,” he said.
He said he was worried by the fact that Robertson have batted for a combined total of 28 overs in their first three matches.
“We bat down further than we have over the past three years so we are looking forward to putting a big score on against someone,” he said.
But Wright said the competition was not a three-team race, with Robertson, Coolavin/Workers and Tully Park the only unbeaten teams this season.
“Hill Top almost knocked off Tully so with a bit more improvement they can be contenders too.”
Robertson have the bye this weekend before clashing with Hill Top in a fortnight.
Moss Vale face another tough test against Coolavin/Workers this weekend.
