THE Southern Highland Hawks wound up season 2009 with a well-attended presentation night held last Friday at the Loseby Park Youth Centre.
All the coaches were appreciative of the effort made by their teams, none of which were season winners but all of which showed great improvement as the season progressed.
A talking point during the night was the club’s revamped playing strip that was on display.
In 2010, if all goes according to plan, the Hawks will take the field in a striking jumper featuring the Club’s current colours.
It’s a jumper that has been largely based on Hawthorn’s alternate strip.
The design features a large Hawk’s head that has become an easily recognisable Australian football symbol.
The club person of the year was Andrew Bermingham who worked tirelessly in his dual roles of club treasurer and under-11s coach.
Other major club awards announced on the night were:
o Rookies of the year: Oscar Moran [under-9s], Dylan Bulluss [under-10s], Brendan Garske [under-11s], Nick Bell [under-12s], Corey McAloon [under-13s], Rhys McDonald [under-15s].
