Ritches, Casey star at Games

SOCCER-crazy Jeff Casey from Hill Top and Bowral’s Nick Ritches were part of the gold-medal winning NSW seven-a-side soccer team at the Australian Paralympic Youth Games.

Casey and Ritches’ team won the tournament with people for cerebral palsy, beating Queensland 1-nil in the semi-final.

For Casey, it was his first time wearing the two-blues of NSW.

“He just loves his soccer,” mother, Wendy Casey said.

Casey is in Year-12 at Mater Dei at Camden and is hopeful of completing a trade-skills based course the school offers next year.

He played for Hill Top during the Highlands Soccer Association regular season, scored two goals and was named players’-player.
