Beginners luck for Gibraltar’s newest kid on the block

NEW member Andrew Barber (27) and John Wallace (13) scored 82 points to win the 2 ball aggregate Stableford on a countback at the Gibraltar Country Club last Saturday.

The pair combined well with individual scores of 41 points each to rack up the winning score.

The runners-up were Vern Vella (28) and Ron Berney (20), also with 82 points.

Martin Coffey, playing off only six, won the singles with 45 points.

Nearest to the pins were won by Coffey on the 4th hole, Harry Gardiner on the 9th, John Allison won the Pro’s NTP 10th hole, Jim Avis won the 12th, and Vella won the 15th.

There were 14 balls handed to six pairs (at 78 points) and two singles to 44 points.

Balls were won by Wallace, Barber, Vella, Berney, Paul Knock, Glenn Wright, Jim Cush, Phil Crane, Coffey, Harry Vinckx, Peter Wilson, Wayne Knapp and Jamie McDonald.
