CHEVALIER College’s Siobhan Clayton won a prestigious Pierre De Coubertin award latelast month.
Clayton recieved the award at a ceremony at the Hall of Legends in Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre, conducted by the Australian Olympic Committee.
The award is “in recognition of your sporting achievements and demonstration of those endeavours which are consistent with the aims of the Olympic movement”.
Baron Pierre de Coubertin, founder of the modern Olympics said: “The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not to win but to take part just as the most important thing in life is not the triumph but the struggle”.
Clayton, who is Chevalier’s first netball captain and plays on the softball team, has also competed a ISA representative level in cross-country and swimming.
Clayton is an 800m runner who represented the ISA at the CIS state titles in 2003/04.
