THE newly formed Robertson Judo Club tasted success at the Australian Kodokan Judo Associations National championships in Tweed Heads last month.

The club has only been running for 18 months, and in its first competition it got seven players in the state team.

The team sent to the nationals came home with four gold, seven silver and four bronze medals.

“They did a fantastic job and surprised a lot of the competition with the results we got,” club instructor Terry Riches said.

“The club trains on Tuesday nights. The juniors are on 5pm-6.30pm and the seniors 6.30pm-8pm. For further info call 4862 2712.”
