Bowral Kookaburras lose battle of the birds

All of the Bowral junior league teams played the Picton Magpies on Saturday.

The under-6s started the day strongly with the kids honing their running and tackling.

The under-7 Blues played out an entertaining match highlighted by some good tackling. Billy Chadwick, Harrison hill, Emily Brindley and Charlie Thurgate all played well. This week’s training award went to Emily Brindely, while Charlie Thurgate was the man of the match.

The under-7 Whites had a great game. Jack Howard, Jeyson Kocer and James Morton tackled very well, while Darcey Howard and Ryan Morton ran the ball strongly. The trainer’s award went to Billy McGuiness and Howard was the man of the match.

The under-10s went down 38-16. Ryan Frost ran in two tries and Jake Galvin also scored. It was an amazing effort from the Kookaburras who were two players short. Tyson Stanton showed the team how to go forward, Blake Emmerick, Monique Fraser, Patrick Bard, Brock and Glenn Thorn also ran well.
