Player airlifted to hospital as U18s called off

A SERIOUS neck injury to promising Bowral player Kyle Flogget marred the Mittagong Lions 12-4 victory over Bowral Bunnies at Mittagong Sportsground on Friday night.

Flogget was airlifted to Prince Alfred hospital after being hurt in a tackle early in the second half.

Bunnies President Peter Robertson praised the efforts of those who helped Kyle.

“The first-aid officers at the ground were fantastic, and they minimised his movement until paramedics arrived,” he said.

“They were very professional, and hopefully Kyle can make a speedy recovery.”

Bowral scored an early try to send some nerves through the Lions’ camp, but this was quickly put to rest as Hayden Vance scored in the 26th minute to put the Lions in front.
