The moment the Moss Vale Dragons match turned

31 Aug, 2009 05:56 PM
IT was the 61st minute. The Roosters were leading 14-12 but Moss Vale were on the attack 30m out from Thirlmere’s line.

Dragons interchange player Daniel Washbourne was hit high by the Roosters former NRL player Troy Wozniak and Moss Vale received a penalty.

The Dragons had the Roosters back-pedalling and looked on top for the first time in the match.

But some ill-discipline from Washbourne, who took matters over the high shot into his own hands, saw referee Glen Whiteman reverse the decision and send Washbourne to the sin-bin for a 10 minute spell.

Three tackles later Thirlmere scored to complete what was potentially a 12-point turnaround.
