THE seventh-placed Shoalhaven third graders pulled nine points clear of the eighth-placed Bundanoon Highlanders with a narrow 12-5 win on Saturday.
After not playing the week before against Shamrocks because the referee didn't show the Bundanoon boys were fired up and ready for a big game.
Midway through the first half Shoalhaven scored a converted try to lead 7-0 at halftime. Bundanoon's Ryan Wilson broke through Shoalhaven's defence 15 minutes into the second stanza and ran 50 metres to close the gap to 7-5.
Defence dominated the second half with both teams putting some big hits on and in the dying minutes Shoalhaven managed to put the icing on the cake by scoring their second try.
