ERIDGE Park hosted another representative rugby match last weekend, further boosting its credentials as a elite level rugby venue.
It’s the third representative match at the ground this year, as the ACT under-15s took on Sydney’s under-15s.
Eridge Park is situated between rugby hot-spots Sydney and Canberra and Bowral president Tony Fountain said the ground was perfectly placed to host more representative games in the future.
The Short Blacks host a full round of junior games at Eridge Park this weekend, starting with the under-10s at 8.45am and finishing with the under-18s at 1.45pm.
Bowral junior club president Steve Hennessy said the matches were scheduled early in the day so juniors could race off to the rugby festival at Bundanoon.
Bundanoon’s annual mark Leslie fundraiser is on this weekend with a match between Oakhill College Castle Hill and the NSW Country under-18’s at Bundanoon Oval on Sunday.
Mark Leslie was a promising young rugby player who attended Oakhill College but suffered a broken neck injury during an internal training session in 2005.
The money raised goes towards his treatment and help him fulfil his dream of becoming a sports event manager in the disability sector.
The match will be accompanied by a Waratahs Coaching Clinic for Highlands junior rugby players. Wallabies players Lachie Turner and Tatafu Polotu-Nau will be among the guests at the clinic.
A dinner is being held tomorrow night at the Bundanoon Club. Limited tickets are still available. To book contact the club on 4883 6174.
