Spirited Blacks can take the title: coach

RYAN Lonsdale’s never had trouble scoring tries at Eridge Park and on Saturday it was no different.

Unfortunately for the Blacks, this time he was playing for Avondale. Lonsdale scored twice and had a couple more disallowed in his team’s 31-26 win.

The English speedstar, who starred for Bowral last year, is working his way through the grades at Avondale as he returns from a shoulder injury.

Despite the loss, Bowral coach Val Tyson was upbeat about his team’s chances.

“If you keep playing like that, and can make it to the playoffs, you can the competition,” Tyson told his team after matching up against Avondale’s massive team.

It was a truly gutsy effort by the Bowral boys and a performance to make all Blacks fans proud.

The Blacks play Kiama in Kiama this Saturday before returning to Eridge Park the week after.
