EXETER’S red-hot end of season form continued on Saturday with a convincing 2-1 win over Bowral in the first grade minor semi-final at Exeter Oval.
Exeter captain Phill Cupitt said his boys completely dominated the defending champions.
"They didn't come into it until the last 15 minutes. We made the ball do the work and made them run round,” he said.
Cuppitt said the team had turned around a form slump in the first half of the year.
“We are starting to click at the right end of the year, our last passes are starting to click after they weren't before and we are finishing off our chances.
“Steven Strode was our man of the match, cleaning up in the midfield and Dan Fernandez was also good in defence.”
Exeter opened the scoring in the 15th minute when Bowral's defence failed to clear a cross and Ricky Doyle turned and cracked a good shot into the back of the net.
Bowral goalkeeper Neil Caswell stopped Exeter extended their halftime lead and kept his team in the hunt.
