Exeter turn in best effort of season to edge out Patris

19/05/2008 9:21:00 AM
Exeter first grade captain Phil Cupitt said his team produced their best effort of season so far in their 1-0 win over Patris at Exeter Oval on Saturday.

In appalling conditions, the home team edged ahead 10 minutes into the game from a Lochlan Smith corner. Patris conceded an own goal when a mishit clearance ended up in the back of the net.

Cupitt said his team had the better share of the scouring opportunities.

“It was good game with 22 decent players No one really stood out,” he said.
