Fortress Hampden

21/07/2008 3:22:00 PM
ROBERTSON-BURRAWANG are proving near impossible to beat at Fortress Hampden Park this season and notched up their seventh win of 2008 with a 4-2 win over Exeter on Saturday.

Exeter rose to the challenge and clawed their way back from a 2-0 deficit to draw level 2-2 with 15 minutes to go.

Robertson then edged ahead through a penalty by Nathan McGraw and Adam Bartlett sealed the deal in the 84th minute.

The first half was a closely fought contest but the game opened up with six goals in the second term after the teams went to the break scoreless.

Matt Fernandez got Robertson on the board two minutes into the second half and bagged his second in the 61st minute.

Exeter’s Steven Strode made it 2-1 minutes later and Ryan Elphick drew his team level in the 74th minute. Exeter lost striker Jeff McDonnell in the second half and captain Phil Cupitt said the penalty was a dubious decision.
