HIGHLANDS United striker Andrew Worner put in his best performance to date bagging four consecutive goals in United's 6-1 thrashing of cellar dwellers Corrimal Rangers at Renwick Park on Saturday.
Leading 1-0 at the break courtesy of Brian Montarnari, Worner wreaked havoc on the Rangers' defence, scoring three goals in 15 minutes before adding his fourth 15 minutes from time. Jed Hilmi finished off the rout just before the final whistle.
The five-goal win was a much needed confidence booster for Highlands who re-took third spot in the Peoplecare District League after Helensburgh lost to undefeated league leaders Woonona 3-0.
United take on Helensburgh away on Saturday and must return home with some points to stave off fifth placed Kiama.
Highlands' coach Brian Hollywood said the reserves 1-0 shock loss was the "worst game of soccer I have ever seen", while the youth graders had a 5-3 win.
