A BURST of four goals in a 20-minute spell of complete dominance gave Yerrinbool-Bargo a 6-2 win over Patris and at Jurd Park on Saturday.
The win sees them maintain top spot two rounds out from the finals. The Bushrangers only led 1-0, courtesy of Chris Evans, at the half but switched into top gear 10 minutes into the second term.
Stuart Parke bagged a double, while Dan London and Blake Baxter also scored to give Yerrinbool a daunting 5-0 lead midway through the second term.
The league leaders’ perfect day was marred by the loss of Jeff Millen to a red card that let Patris back in the game. Millen received his first caution for swearing and was then given his marching orders following an altercation with Chris Nicalou.
The home team made the most of a 10-man Bushranger outfit and captain Tom Simmons and Billy Mihalis managed to find the back of the net. Patris will be without Mihalis for the rest of the season. Mihalis is off on a European holiday, but Dan Riley will be back from a four-week suspension against Exeter this Saturday.
Ben Miller got Yerrinbool’s fifth goal of the second term late in the half.
Captain Rob Miller said the team bounced back well from their 2-1 loss to title rivals Robertson-Burrawang in round 12.
“It was good to bounce back but to lose a player and let them score two easy goals was disappointing,” he said.
