THE Highlands’ best swimmers are preparing for this weekend’s NSW state short course championships at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre in Homebush.
Among the Highlanders will be Atlantis Swim Team trio Tayla Croudson, Liam Cunneen and Jessica Handebo, who are part of a 17-person Atlantis team
ready to set the Homebush pool alight.
The youngest on the team, Croudson will be competing in the 10-years 50m butterfly and 100m butterfly.
Croudson will be looking to continue her fine winter form that included a recent gold medal in the 50m butterfly at Metro South West championships.
Cunneen has a hectic schedule at the short course event, having qualified for an impressive ten events and a relay in the boys 14-years division.
Hondebo has managed to overcome injury and qualified for the girls 15-years 100m backstroke.
All swimmers attribute their success to their hard work and their dedicated Atlantis coaches Les Mathews and Scott Farnell.
